He felt that his whole life was some kind of dream and he sometimes wondered whose it was and whether they were enjoying it.
Douglas Adams, "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"

Human beings, by changing the inner attitudes of their minds, can change the outer aspects of their lives.

Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.
Scott Adams, 'The Dilbert Principle'

Love the animals, love the plants, love everything. If you love everything, you will perceive the divine mystery in things. Once you perceive it, you will begin to comprehend it better every day. And you will come at last to love the whole world with an all-embracing love. -Fyodor Dostoyevsky

Pamela Glenconner:

Bitter are the tears of a child: Sweeten them.
Deep are the thoughts of a child: Quiet them.
Sharp is the grief of a child: Take it from him.
Soft is the heart of a child: Do not harden it.

some herbal recepies

Toothpastes

Ground sea salt (2 table spoons)
Ground Thyme (1 teaspoon)
Ground Mint (1 teaspoon)
Baking Soda (1 tablespoon)

Pound all ingredients in a mortar and pestle then put in a jar and compact it down. Use a little with a toothbrush.

Cornmeal Hands Mask
Mix 1/4 cup corn meal with 3 Tbsp. milk. Heat over low heat until a paste forms. Add 1 drop almond oil. Let cool. Spread on hands, leave on for about 10 minutes. Rinse.

Banana Hand & Foot Cream
Dry hands and feet will become smooth and soft overnight if you mix:
Bananas
Honey
Lemon juice
Natural margarine
Smear on hands and wear white gloves to bed. Wash off in the morning. For dry feet, smear the mixture on and wear heavy socks to bed, wash off in the morning.

Gritty (and I mean *gritty* ) oat wash

Ingredients

4 dessertspoons of oats
1 teaspoon ground rice
1 teaspoon fine sea salt
1 dessertspoon vegetable oil (or homemade infused oil)

Method

1. Rub the oats thru your fingers until the required texture is reached. Remember the rougher the oats the coarser the eventual wash.

2. Add the rest of the dry ingredients. Mix. Add the oil. Rub well until the mixture and oil have nicely combined.

3. Now pack down into a clean jar.

To use

Take a small amount of the oat wash onto the palm of your hand and blend it gently with some water until you have a creamy mixture. Rub the mixture into the skin (I like to use this as an exfoliating face scrub) using small. circular motions using plenty of water. Rinse well.
